About the Captain

Captain Nelson brings a life time of experience and 25 years of charter boat fishing knowledge to his clients. Born and raised on the shores of the Raritan Bay, Captain Nelson caught the “fishing fever” at age 3 when he caught his first fish. At age 10 he purchased his first boat and spent the summers drifting the flats for fluke, blues, porgies and weakfish. At 17 years old he started working on charter and party boats up and down the Jersey coast honing his skills to fulfill a lifelong dream of running his own charter boat. After successfully securing a 100 ton masters near coastal license, Captain Nelson introduces to you the F/V Roman ‘Round. Captain Nelson prides himself on the theory that running a charter boat is not a job but an adventure for himself, as well as those that charter him. He cherishes every day on the water. Looks forward to making new friends. And steps up to the challenge of finding and catching fish for his clients with a no holds barred attitude. Captain Nelson has an uncanny ability to find and catch fish.
